Buttress® aligns with the three Standards of the Private Sector Preparedness (PS-Prep) Program.
[For the PS-Prep Program the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has adopted:
1. ASIS SPC.1 (2009) American National Standard for Organizational Resilience;
2. BS 25999-2 (2007) the British Business Continuity Standard - Specification; and
3. NFPA 1600 (2007) Standard on Disaster/Emergency Management and Business Continuity Programs.]
The approach moves away from a focus on specific hazard scenarios and instead,
focuses on the vulnerability of the resources which underpin key business processes.
This approach has been validated by EPCB clients in both the public and private sectors.
